THE MAGAZINE
Intelligent, humorous, provocative, irreverent, questioning, fresh, informative...
The Riders Digest started in 1997 as a photocopied newsletter aimed at London couriers, and evolved over the years into an A5 full colour magazine covering all aspects of motorcycling.
In January 2006 long-term contributors John Newman and Dave Gurman took over as publisher and editor respectively, and since then they have steadily expanded both the print run and the distribution network, until it is now being read by discerning motorcycle and scooter riders in an area bordered by Dover, Southampton, Bristol, Northampton and Norwich (plus subscribers across the country and around the world).
‘The Digest’ is distributed FREE through rider venues (i.e. the Ace Cafe and Boxhill), courier companies, dealerships, workshops, accessory and clothing outlets, tyre fitters, MOT stations, training schools, and a whole host of other convenient locations (see 'Distribution').
John and Dave are ably aided and assisted by an ever-growing family of collaborators who take care of the layout and design, write the articles, take the pictures, point us towards possible stories and information, and - crucially - distribute the finished magazine. And all of us are dedicated riders.
‘The Digest’ features writing that is unconventional, intelligent, humorous, provocative, irreverent, questioning, fresh, informative, and, above all, entirely independent.
If you have a story or pictures you'd like to see published; any comments, opinions, praise or complaints (whether they are addressed at us or the wider world of motorcycling); or any other kind of information you think the readership might be interested in, get in touch with Dave at editor@theridersdigest.co.uk (alternatively just give him a call).
