Ride Out and Join Us: A new motorcycle magazine appearing on our newsagent shelves is a rare event, and the launch of our 132 page on sale edition on April 23rd will be the first new UK bike mag for many a year. In keeping with our approach of producing good quality down to earth writing that talks to motorcyclists from their perspective and experience, and to help celebrate the occasion; we'll be holding a 'launch' at Jacks Hill cafe, the well known rider's venue on the A5 near Towcester on Sunday 19th April from 10.00am to 3.00pm (approx). The first fifty riders to come and say hello can claim a breakfast voucher. We'll have some interesting bikes for people to browse, and a good rockin' band to liven up a Sunday morning. The new magazine will be on sale at a discount price, five days ahead of its appearance in the shops. Be part of history! Get a group together and 'ride out and join us'. The Rider's Digest vs James Toseland: We'll be taking on double world champion and Moto GP rider James Toseland at this year's Thundersprint. The great street sprint held on the weekend of 9th/10th May. The town of Northwich in Cheshire is taken over by motorcycling, with a bike show in the town centre on Saturday and the full on spectacle of the cavalcade and sprint races on Sunday. And they're happy to host the tens of thousands who turn up. Our rider, Jack Knight (20yrs), will be aboard a 1989 Yamaha TZ250 loaned by our writer Keith Roisetter - Keith took this bike to third place in the Bemsee Yamaha Past Masters Championship in the '08 season. I think James has heard about our entry, is probably rattled and trying to talk down our challenge; he's been quoted as saying "...it will be nice to get on two wheels and not to have to worry about what everyone else around me is doing - and who is putting in faster times". If you've never made it to this event: it's one of the great motorcycle street festivals. You'll see more racing and working classics here than at any other UK occasion, and it's all FREE.
