Whether it's been through luck or judgement, we've continued to grow through 2009 and look forward, with anticipation, to more of the same as we enter the new decade. We have loads of activities planned this year (more rollercoaster riding!). There will be massive in store promotion around our April issue (out in March). This issue will also be stocked in lots of independents who haven't taken the Rider's Digest before. If you want your local shop to stock it this will be a good time to influence them. The popular BMF shows, organised by Mulberry Events, will see a huge Rider's Digest presence. This gives us the chance to meet many more motor cyclists and introduce our pocket sized 'Big' mag. We have a huge space at the shows, and anticipate initiating many thousands of motor cyclists to the Rider’s Digest experience. We can't wait to meet them! Mulberry has won the contract to organise the shows for the next three years, and we're really looking forward to working alongside them to make these events a must in the motorcyclist's calendar. The show dates will be: BMF Show, Peterborough May 15th/16th GEMS, Kent June 12th/13th Kelso, July 10th/11th Tail End, Lincoln 18th/19th September (new venue) Further details: www.bmf.co.uk/events www.themulberrygroup.com
In this issue you can read about the KTM Adventure, a bike that impressed round the world traveller and Digest regular Geoff Thomas, plus Moto Guzzi's stonking Sport 1200 V4. We sent our editor out onto the green lanes of Surrey and Hampshire to ride with a new off road guided rides outfit, and get very wet. And the unruly tourer Rod Young continues his bar, beer and scenery tour of Croatia. We're introducing two new features in 2010: 'Making It Happen', where we profile those who make motorcycling happen in all its manifestations, have an interesting story to tell, yet rarely get recognised. Tired of reading about Rossi, great as he is? We'll also be bringing you 'It's All About the Sport': front line experiences from those 'on any Sunday' events you won't read about in MCN etc. We won't be changing the eclectic mix our readers seem to love and have more great travel articles lined up, and regular favourites like 'What's In your Garage' and 'Outside the Box' will run and run. www.theridersdigest.co.uk
